Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reigle Funeral Home,
Sunset Chapel. Rev. Melvin Leach officiating. Burial in sunset Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was born in Double Springs, Alabama. Dec. 20, 1903.
He was a member of United Methodist Church of Brent Creek, and was employed by
Chevrotet V-8 Engine Plant, retiring in 1968.
Surviving are; Wife, Edna; son, Dennis M. of Flushing; 3 daughters, Mrs. Billy
Joe (Doris) Bramlett and Mrs.W. David (Kay) Lee, both of Flushing, and Mrs.
Donald (Bonnie)
Sherbino of Mt. Morris; 13 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. L. E. Wiseman of
New Madrid, Missouri and Mrs. Florence Littrell of Austin, Texas; 4
brothers,
B.D., Horton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill Horton of Waynesboro, Tennessee, J.B.
Horton and B.C. Horton both of New Madrid, Missouri, several Nieces and nephews.

Horton Dennis M.; Born Dec. 2, 1936, to the late Dennis
and Edna Lindsey Horton, he was formerly of New Madrid, Mo.
His wife, Betty J. Horton, survives of the home in Peoria Arz. Other survivors
include; one daughter, Lisa Shafer of Malden;
three sons, Allen Horton of Bernie and Steve Horton & Eddie Horton of Altamonte
Springs, Fla; three sisters Boris Vramlett
and Kay Lee of Flushing Mich. and Bonnie Jenkins of Greenfield, Ohio and three
granddaughters.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday at the Richards Funeral Home where
services will be at 1lp.m. Saturday.
The Rev. Belva Riek will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery New
Madrid.

Horton J.B.
J.B. age 70. died May 11, 1990, at veterans administration John J. Pershing
Medical Center at Poplar bluff.
Born March 13, 1920 in Winston county, Ala, to the late Jackson B. and Frances
Melinda Baccus Horton,
he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Madrid and a W.W.
Veteran.
He was also a member of the Brown-Twitty American Legion Post No. 595 in New
Madrid where he was the past Commander and Adjutant.
He was also the Past District Commander and Past Vice Commander and past
Adjutant of the 14th District of the American Legion.
He was appointed by Gov. George Wallace of Ala. as Honorary Lt. Col. and
Aide-De-Camp in the Alabama Sate Militia.
He was a member of the Emmaus Community of Arkansas.
On Nov. 10, 1943, in Portageville he married Melba Farris who survives of
the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Eva Pettus of Hot Springs, Ark.
Janelle Burch of Sikeston and Karen Sue Patterson of New Madrid;
two grandchildren, Phillip Burch of Sikeston and Amelia Patterson of New Madrid.
One brother, William "Bill" Horton of Waynesboro , Tenn.;
and two sisters, Florence Littrell of Austin, Texas, and L.E, Wiseman of
Dexter.
Preceding him in death were four brothers and two sisters.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in New Madrid
. with the Rev. Glen Pettus, son-in-law, pastor of the Oak Lawn Baptist
Church in Hot Springs, Ark officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Paul
Lathum of the first United Methodist of New Madrid.
Arrangements under the direction of Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in New Madrid.
Pallbearers will be members of the Brown-Twitty American Legion post No.
595 of New Madrid.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of the Nursing Home Care
Unit of the Veterans Administration John J. Pershing Medical Center of Poplar
Bluff.

Horton, Edna L. Of Flushing , formerly of New Madrid,
died Friday, September 17, 1999 at her residence, Funeral services will be held
10 A.M. Monday,
September 20, 1999 at Rossell funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Denton will officiate,
burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Visitation will be 6-9pm Saturday
and
12 noon-9PM Sunday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren
Hospice.
Mrs. Horton was born in New Madrid, Mo, February 9, 1915, the daughter of
Herman and Ida (Clark) Lindsey.
She married Dennis R. Horton in New Madrid, February 8, 1931. He preceded her in
death on November 9, 1975.
Mrs. Horton was a member of Flushing United Methodist Church and a former member
of Brent Creek United Methodist Church.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Doris Bramlett of Flushing, Bonnie Jenkins of
Forsyth, Mo. Kay and husband David Lee of flushing; 13 grandchildren; brother,
Billy and wife Dale Lindsey of Claremore, OK; 3 sisters Geraldine Lindsey of
East Prairie, Mo. Star Carter of East Prairie, Mo. Juanita and husband Jackie
Norris of Euless, TX. many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by;
son, Dennis Horton, grandson , Scott Lee; sons-in-law, Donald Jenkins and Joe
Bramlett. A special thanks to McLaren Hospice for their care and concern.
