Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Freeman 96 died Jan. 12, 2008, at her home.

Born May 5th, 2011 in Webb, Miss., to Ashberry and Tanzie Bearden.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Stillborn where she was a member of the Choir and president of the Mothers Board and the Missionary Society.

She married Warren Freeman Sr. who preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Limmie and Allecya Edwards and Ashberry Edwards of Chicago, Paul and Edna Freeman of Boiling Brook, Ill.
and Warren and Trina Freeman Jr.of New Mexico. Seven daughters and Three Son-in-laws, Teresa Mayes and Lillie Smith of Chicago, Bobbie Freeman of Omaha, Nebraska:,
Betty Banks of Saint Louis:, Dorothy and Elisha Campbell of Vacaville California:, and Willie Henry of Memphis, Tennessee:, and Thirty Seven grandchildren and Foury Eight great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn . Services will be conducted at noon Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Burial will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. Williams Funeral Home of Howdville is in charge of arrangements .

Obituary of Eliza Bell Kreps Petersen

Mrs. Eliza Bell Kreps Petersen
Eliza Bell Kreps, daughter of John R. and Anna Mary Kreps was born in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood on August 19, 1874, and passed away at her home near Matthews, Missouri, on December 24, 1932, at the age of 58 years, 4 months and 4 days. At the age of twelve Mrs. Petersen moved with her parents to Prairie City and here she lived until the time of her marriage.
It was through the tender and loving care of Mrs. Petersen that her parents had a home until the very last. Through many years she remained with them giving them the best of care.
On November 20, 1918, she was united in marriage to Nis Petersen, and they went immediately to their home in Missouri. For the past few years they have shared their home with a daughter, Merle, to whom Mrs. Petersen was a kind and loving mother.
For the past year and a half Mrs. Petersen has been afflicted with a lingering illness and the frail and wasted body was unable to withstand longer. Early in life she united with Brethren Church.
Surviving Mrs. Petersen are two brothers, George Kreps of Blandinsville and Elmer of Bushnell. Two brothers, John and William, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, December 27, at the Methodist Church in Avon, conducted by Rev. George M. Hoyle.
Interment was made in the Prairie City Cemetery.

Helen Morrison, 53, formerly of Salisbury, died Sept. 22, 2001, at her home

Born Feb. 6, 1948, in Chariton County, daughter of the late Ralph and Genevieve Coy Schnetzler, she was a police officer for the City of New Madrid
and a member of the United Methodist Church in Salisbury.

On May 15, 1981, in Miami, Okla., she married Walter Phillip Morrison who survives of the home.

Other survivors include; one son, Brent Alan Wilkey of Salisbury; one daughter, Sheila Kaye Guilford of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Ross Alan
Wilkey, Richard Shane Morrison and Caleb Authur Morrison of Salisbury.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John
Holland of the United Methodist Church in New Madrid Officiating

Visitation will then be conducted from 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salibury.

New Madrid- Norman 'Red' Swain, 79,died Sept. 14, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept, 13, 1922 at Poe, son of the late Elza and Ethel Bell Tucker Swain, he was a self employed painter and pest exterminator. A U.S. Navy
veteran of World War 11 and member the New Madrid Methodist Church, he was also a member of American Legion Post 59 and the Masonic
Lodge in New Madrid.

In 1948 , he married Betty Jones who survives of the home.

Other survivors include; three daughters, Carolyn Adams and Marjorie Irby of New Madrid and Ethel Bell Klein of Lilbourn, one son, Charles Norman
Swain of Lilbourn; and nine grandchildren and two treat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Masonic rites were conducted Saturday at Richards Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today. The Rev. John Holland, pastor of
the New Madrid Methodist Church, will officiate.

American Legion Post 595 will conduct graveside military rites at the Evergreen Cemetery

New Madrid-Bobby Jimerson, 54, died Sept. 24, 2001, at his home.

Born May 5, 1947, in New Madrid County, son of the late E.J. "Bob' and Mary Margaret McCane Jmerson, he was a member of Fraternal Order of
Eagles Aerie 44206 of New Madrid and was a barge operator for Noranda Aluminum.

Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie Lynn and Starlin Kelley Jr. and Joanna Christine and Charles 'Chuck' Howard of New
Madrid;one brother, Ronnie Jimerson of New Madrid; two sisters, Shirley Carter of the LaForge community and Patricia Kolwyck of New Madrid;
and four grandsons, Trey Kelley, Garret Kelley, Chance dHowfard and Tatum Howard of New Madrid; and one granddaughter, Janie Kelley of New
Madrid.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Allen Jimerson; and one sister, Carolyn Sue Jimerson.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Richards Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Merrill Duffy, pastor
of the First Church of God in Lilbourn, will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

New Madrid-The Rev. William E. Henson, 79, died Sept. 4, 2001.

Born Aug.4, 1922, in Campbell, son of the late Jettie Lucy Sanford Henson Boyt of Kennett and the late Jesse Howard Henson, he was a member of
the New Madrid Baptist Church and former member of Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.

On Dec.4, 1940,he married Mary Naomi Bell, who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jesse Marion and Francis Henson of Plainview. Ark., Elbert
Clinton Henson Jr. of Kennett and the Rev. Gary Roger and Sandy Henson of New Madridl one daughter and son-in-law, Elilzabeth Ann and Harold
Keathley of Smithville, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Henson of Kennett; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. today until service time at 7:30 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. The Rev. Don Slatton will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Lloyd Cemetery at Holcomb.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Carol Moore, C.M. Smith, Troy Rebstock, Bud Sweeney, Terry Weaver, Tommy Brannun,George Nelson and Kerry Noble.

New Madrid- Edwin Ling, 62, died Aug. 25, 2001 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 11, 1938, son of the late John Henry and Versie Ann Rogers Ling, he was a lifelong self-employed farmer and a member of the New Madrid
Eagles and the Sikeston Elks.

On April 22, 1956 in Hernando, Miss;, he married Shirley Shaw who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ricky Allen Ling of New Madrid and John Randel Ling of La Forge; one daughter, Tamra Desha McClellan of La
Forge; two sisters, Marcella Shelby of Sikeston and Phyllisteen Landers of Alton Ill.; and 6 grandchildren.

He was Preceded in death by one sister, Opal Newman.

Services were held at 2 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Tom McCanless officiating.

Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.

Pallbearers were: Sam Faulkner, John Wescoat, Richard Phillips, Jackson Clay Hunter, Riley James and Tommy Bradley.

Honorary pallbearers were: Harlan Gilmer, Arthur McMillen, Donald Grist, Jim Brotherton, Chester Richards, R.D,. James, Bill Boyd and Dick Phillips.

Artie Mae Morlan
New Madrid-- Artie Mae Morlan, 84, died Feb 6 2008, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 27, 1923, in East Prairie, she was the daughter of the late Roland "R.C." and Maudie Jenkins Rust.
She married Doyne Lindsey who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1953. She later married Tom Morlan who preceded her in death on April 7, 2000.
Two daughters, Melba Sue Lindsey and Virginia Kay Lindsey, and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Marty Lindsey of Jewett, texas, Dwayne and Sandy Morlan of New Madrid and Tom Morlan of Phoenix;
one daughter Gayle Stevens of St. Louis; three sisters, Hazel Miller, Ruth Cunningham and Beulah Woods of Murray, Ky.; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services will be conducted at 2.p,m. Saturday.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
