Hickory Grove reunion planned. Former students of the old Hickory Grove School, Newton County, are planning to have a reunion late in August. Anyone with information on families that moved away are asked to contact either Barbara FISHER, Rt. 1, Seneca or Lavonne JOHNSON Rt. 4, Joplin.

The following names of families whose children attended the school between 1935 and 1952:
GOWER, LANKFORD, CONNELL, MAILES, THOMPSON, POIRY, LAWSON, ANDERSON, ADAMS, GOLDEN, COLE, SEATON, DAVIS, BOMAN, KENNEDY, HILL, CHESTER, SALLEE, KNIGHT, McDONALD, GREEN, RHINE, SMITH, DAVIS, FAIRCHILD, COPELAND, GRANT, WALKER, COX, AREHART, MULLENS, MEANS, BARKER, KING, McKINZIE, LUDIKER, WHITMAN, HIRSCH, PLUMMER, WALLS, OWNENS, BRIZZENDINE, HALL, STEGALL, TRIPLETT, WEAVER, GILSTRAP, MORGAN, CRUMBLISS, McMILLAN AND BLACK.

Former teachers are also invited to attend. Some of the teacher were Earl WALKER, Jean COOK, Juanita HAWKINS, can't read the rest.

Reunion Set At Seneca-
Seneca, MO- the former Hickory Grove School of District No. 87, south of Seneca, will be hold its first reunion Saturday in the Seneca City Park.

Mrs. Laveta HIGGENBOTHAM brought in the picture of Hickory Grove School. It was taken Jan. 30, 1912.
The little boy in the front row, left, standing is her brother, the late Lester MAILES. This was his first school.
