NEW- Altenburg, Mo.--EWING M. ABERNATHY, 90, of Altenburg died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born Sept 24, 1917 at Esther, Mo., son of Duke E. and Marie L. Sander Abernathy. He and Gladys P. Moeslein were married Dec. 25, 1948. Abernathy was owner/operator of E. M. Abernathy and Sons Office Equipment in Rolla, Mo. He later worked until retiring at Ollie Hoehn's Office Supplies in Perryville, Mo.. He was a member of Trinty Lutheran Church in Altenburg. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Abernathy of Vancouver, Wash., Roger Abernathy of Island of Moorea, Tahiti, Jonathan Abernathy of Frohna, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Gollahon of Rolla; three sisters, Norma Sadler of Columbia, Mo., Frances Cromer of Cleveland, Mo., Margaret Eubanks of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, William Abernathy of Sarasota, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 to 8:30 a..m. Saturday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Perryville, MO--LAWRENCE DICKHANS, 68 years old, of Perryville died Wednesday in a St. Louis hospital.
He was born May 13, 1903 in St. Louis. He was married to the former Miss Ada Davis, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Dale and Roland Dickhans, both of St. Louis; a brother, Wm. Dickhans, St. Louis; and six grandchildren.
The body is at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, where friends may call after noon Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 Saturday morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery here.

PERRYVILLE, MO--GEORGE A. "BERT" BASS, 84 of Perryville, died Thursday, June 11, 1992, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 17, 1907 at Perryville, son of Francis M. and Sarah E. Tucker Bass. He and Erna Ochs were married April 22, 1933.
Bass retired as packing foreman at International Shoe Co. He was a member of Immanual Lutheran church, it's Men's Club, Voting Club, and American Legion post 133. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Stella Brewer and Thelma Kitchen of Perryville and Frances Boxdorfer of Chester, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 tonight, and 6:30-8 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

PERRYVILLE, MO--MRS. ROSE E. BASS--
Funeral mass for Mrs. Rose E. Bass of Perryville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today.
Mrs. Bass, 72 years old, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1988 at American Care Center.
She was born March 9, 1916 in Perry County, daughter of Charles and Emily Bert Swan. She married Robert Bass.
Mrs. Bass had worked at American Thermometer in St. Louis, and was a member of St. Vincent's Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Francis Bass of Perryville, William Bass of Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and brother.

PERRYVILLE, MO--ROBERT ROY BASS--
Service for Robert Roy Bass was held at 10 a.m. today at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church here, with Rev. Charles Rice officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Young and Sons Funeral Home of Perryville was in charge of arrangements.
Bass, 77 years old, of Perryville, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 1989, at the Mineral Area Medical Center in Farmington.
He was born July 7, 1911 at Perryville, son of Francis Monroe and Sarah Tucker Bass.
He was a drill press operator. He was a member of the Perryville VFW.
He was married to Rose E. Swan. She preceded him in death Aug. 10, 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Francis (Frank) Bass of Perryville and William J. Bass of Augusta, Ga; brother, George (Bert) Bass of Perryville three sisters, Frances Boxdorfer of Chester, Ill., Stella Brewer and Thelma Kitchen, both of Perryville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchilden.
He was preceded in death by a son.

PERRYVILLE, MO--
CARRIE MAE BARTHOLOMEW, 95, of Perryville, died Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles..
A native of Petersburg, Ill., she was born March 20, 1893. She was the wife of Hiram W. Bartholomew.
Survivors include one son-in-law, Larry Scott of Perryville.
Services were held Sept. 8 at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Shrum officiating.
