Obituary of Andrew Fulton, December 24, 1903
This obituary was found at the Rolla Public Library on micro tapes of the Rolla Herald Democrat paper dated January 7, 1904
Died
December 24, 1903 Andrew Fulton in his eighty-fourth year. He was born March 19, 1920. He was married twice, his first wife was Miss Sarah Brewer, the date of first marriage is not to be had at present. His first wife died in 1882, and his second marriage was to Miss Caroline Paul, Dec. 14th 1886. He was the father of eight children, four of the children preceded him to the Spirit Land, and four are left, James, William, Annie, and Mrs. Cassie Hoagland. James was the only child that could be by his bed while in his last hours as the other children were too far away. He had read his Bible with care and often related to the writer, Bible incidents that occurred in olden times. The precious old book shows that he had made a study of its sacred volume and it was my privilege to talk with him on his death bed, he said to me and others that he would not get well, but that he had always trusted the Lord and was not afraid to die. He said he was christened in infancy and was reared in the Presbyterian father and had kept the faith and henceforth there is a crown of eternal life laid up for our brother. His remains were laid to rest in the Roach cemetery and was followed by a host of friends, some of them had known him about forty years.
His wife and children, step children and grand children have our sympathy in this trying hour.
