Died- In Rolla, at six o'clock on Sunday morning:, March 21st, 1875, of pneumonia, Mollie E., the beloved wife of W. J. Powell, and eldest daughter

Child of Prof. W. S. Perkins
A Sad Accident
- On Saturday, April 3rd. the village of St. James was thrown into a state of intense excitement by the rumor that the child of Prof. W. S. Perkins was drowned.
On inquiry, it was found that the sad news will but too true, that the child had fallen into the vault beneath the outbuilding and was suffocated before assistance could be rendered. It was buried, on the following day. Mr. Perkins has our earnest sympathy in this his severe affliction.
