"Mrs. Zimmerman Dead"
Mrs. Joseph Zimmerman, of the east Elmira country, died Monday morning of pneumonia, following an attack of influenza.
Mrs. Zimmerman was Clemmie Campbell, daughter of Jack Campbell, and was the stepmother of Fred and Vella Zimmerman,
and Mrs. Tom Hufft of Lawson.
Burial was in the Zimmerman cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

Zimmerman, Elbert
Elbert Zimmerman, a Ray county pioneer and an honored citizen of Knoxville township, died at his home three miles
northwest of Knoxville township, last Saturday afternoon, February 15th, aged 77 years.
The deceased was a native Tennesseen and was born 1825. He came to Ray county in 1842, and has resided here since
that date. He was a veteran of the Mexican war and also served in the Confederate army. He was married in 1852
to Miss Elizabeth Crenshaw. To this union nine children were born, six of whom survive him.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, following which the body was interred in the Zimmerman family burying ground,
near Sandals. Peace be to his ashes.

Death of a Former Ray Countain.
George A. Zimmerman, a well known citizen of Polo, died at his home, Tuesday morning, April 20, after several years
of failing health. He was about seventy years old, and was born and lived in Ray county up until the last few years,
having resided in Polo.
Deceased was a man of many friends and a citizen that any community was made better by his living in it as he was
a man of true character both morally religiously.
Mr. Zimmerman leaves a wife, two daughters, Mary, of Polo, Mrs. Maude Watson, of Cowgill, and one son, Lawrence,
who lives in Colorado. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Christian church in Polo.
Interment was in the Thomson cemetery.

"Old Resident of Lawson Dead"
The funeral services for Joseph Zimmerman, 79, who died at his home in Lawson Tuesday, were held there Wednesday
afternoon at 8 o'clock. Burial took place at the Zimmerman family cemetery eight miles east of Lawson.
He was the son of Elbert and Elisabeth Zimmerman, and was born May 28, 1855, near Knoxville.
His first marriage was to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Wilkerson. Four children were born to them, three of whom survive
their father. They are Mrs. I.H. Stockard, and Mrs. J. T. Hufft, of Lawson, and Fred Zimmerman, of Cowgil. A daughter,
Nettie, died when she was 2 ½ years old.
Mr. Zimmerman's second marriage was to Miss Clemmy Campbell. One daughter, Mrs. Robert Perry, was born to them.
His third marriage was to Mrs. Belle Perry who survives him. He also leaves three grandchildren.
Mr. Zimmerman was well known in that vicinity, having resided in that community for years.

Zimmerman, Mary A. (Green)
Mary A. Zimmerman, daughter of Rueben and Susan Green, was born near Knoxville, Tennessee, October 29, 1849, and
passed away at her home in Polo, Mo., August 25, 1941.
She accompanied her parents from Tennessee to Ray County, Missouri, when three and one-half years of age, and had
lived in Polo for 40 years. She was married to Joseph H. Zimmerman February 13, 1868. He passed away September
9, 1899.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Lizzie McCollough, Chicago; Mrs. T.S. Davis, Kansas City; Mrs. Anna Albright,
Richmond; and Ida May Zimmerman, of the home. Six grandchildren: Dr. Robert C. Davis, Joe Davis, Miss Mpes Davis,
and Mrs. Frank Stalzer, Kansas City; Mrs. Delbert Zimmerman, Richmond; Mrs. John Vreeland, Chicago. Seven great-grandchildren:
Mrs. George F. Klein, Jr., Buffalo, N.Y., Jack T. Zimmerman, Richmond; Mrs. H.A. Mattingley, Robert C. Davis, Jr.,
Frank Stalzer, Jr., Tommy Stalzer, of Kansas City; Jay Vreeland, of Chicago. One sister, Mrs. Robert M. Crenshaw,
Whittier, California; one brother, Ira Green, Polo.
She had been a member of the Christian church for more than 65 years and a charter member of the Polo Christian
church.
Funeral services were held from the home at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, August 27th. The Rev. E. Hannah
was in charge of the services. The final resting place was in the Thomson cemetery, south of Polo.

Zirjacks, John
John Zirjacks departed this life on March 18th, 1928. He was born in Meglenburg, Germany, April 4th, 1847, aged
80 years, 11 months and 15 days.
About 20 years ago he bought the 250 acre farm 1 ½ miles N.W. of Rayville. His wife Louise Zirjacks, died
15 years ago. Mr. Zirjacks remained on the farm with his three boys , Louis, at the home, Theodore, at Bisby, North
Dakota, and G.H. Zirjacks of Duncan, Oklahoma, until his death. Three grand children and one great grandchild survive,
with many friends to mourn his departure.
Mr. Zirjacks was a member of the Lutheran church. The funeral was preached by Rev. Robert Harder of Rayville,
at 2 o'clock, Monday afternoon. Burial was beside his wife in the McGaugh cemetery.
Mr. Zirjacks was a reliable and highly respected citizen. His life of honest toil and industry is highly commendable.
His spirit is now at rest, with the Lord - Robert Harder, Rayville, Mo.
