Benton, MO.--LAFAYETTE MCCOY, 88, of Benton died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.  He was born Sept. 23, 1918 in Tuckerman, Ark., son of Fayette and Mary Ella Brandon McCoy.  He married Jeroleen Shrum, who died Nov. 8, 1977.  McCoy was a machinist at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS.  He had lived in Benton since 1998, and attended Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City, MO.  He was a sergeant in the U. S. Army during World War II.  Survivors include two sons, Jimmie McCoy of Willow Springs, MO, Gary McCoy of Scott City; two daughters, Judy Morris of Benton, Marie Mayberry of Commerce, MO; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 22, 2007) at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 23, 2007) at the chapel with the Rev. Jim Norris officiating.  Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, MO, with military graveside rites.


Aurora, IL--EARL JOHN MILLER, 62, of Aurora, passed away suddenly Friday, February 13, 1998 at his home. He was born on September 10, 1935 in Anniston, MO, the son of Amos and Estelle (Davis) Johnson. He was raised in Scott County, MO, but resided in Kane County most of his life.
Earl was employed by Aurora Truck Body.
Survivors include his wife, Angel Miller of Aurora; three daughters, Brenda Burton of Montgomery, Sandy Miller of Bardwell KY and Jeannie Sterling of East Prairie, MO; one brother, Charlie Bone of Bertrand, MO; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one son, Michael.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 15, 1998 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, 630-897-9291.
Funeral services will be held in East Prairie, MO on Wednesday, February 18, 1998 from Shelby's Funeral Home, 573-649-3544. Interment will take place at Armour Cemetery in Annison, MO. Local arrangements by the Healy Chapel.

Sanford, FL--MARION BEN MOORE, 73, Cedar Creek Circle, Sanford, died Sunday, Aug. 4. Mr. Moore was a general contractor. Born in Oran, Mo., he moved to Central Florida in 1956. He was Baptist. He was an Army Air Corps veteran. Survivors: wife, Juanita R.; daughter, Jodie Sluss, Sanford; sons, Clark, Casselberry, Frank, Fletcher, N.C., Garry, Apopka, Marvin, Lake Mary, Michael Morris, St. Louis; brother, Dean, Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Della Todt, Oran, Esther Wood, Odessa, Texas, Thelma Kingsbury, Lucy Gately, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Norma Kaplan, Tucson, Ariz., Darlees Maxie, Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren.

BUTLER, IL --CHAUNCEY "JACK" MUTCHLER, 73, of Butler died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at Hillsboro Hospital, Hillsboro. He was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Commerce, Mo., the son of Jacob and Mary Groves Mutchler. He married Marcella Brown on April 22, 1944, in Hillsboro.
Mr. Mutchler had worked as a construction and farm laborer. He retired in 1978. He was a former member of Laborers Union 338.
Survivors: wife, Marcella; a son, Jack (wife, Pat) Mutchler of Springfield; two daughters, Sherri Olson and Tarianne Ames, both of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Mutchler of Hillsboro, and Ray Mutchler of Missouri; and a sister, Ellen Stewart of Hillsboro.
Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Cress Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, the Rev. James Howie officiating.
