Peoria, IL-- ARMOUR
THOMAS, 77, of Magnolia,
Ark., near the Village Community, formerly of Peoria, died Thursday,
Aug. 18, 2005, at Magnolia City Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1927, in Blogett, Mo., he married Clara Faye Phillips.
She preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Thomas.
Surviving are two sons, Russell (and Char) of Stephens, Ark., and
Stephen (and Peggy) of Peoria; two daughters, Theresa Wilson of
Magnolia and Karla Rowland of El Dorado, Ark.; five grandchildren; and
six great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II Navy veteran. A member of Caterpillar Fire
Brigade, he worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, retiring after 35
years of service. He also was a member of Peoria Civil Defense Fire
Rescue.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Home chapel in
Magnolia, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight. Burial will be
in Village Cemetery in Magnolia. --Peoria Journal Star, The

Lakeland, FL--MILDRED
ANN TRANTHAM, 72, of
Lakeland died Saturday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A native of
Scott County, Mo., she moved to this area from Gadsden, Ala. in 1960.
She was a spinner in a cotton mill. She is survived by a daughter,
Geneva Thompson of Lakeland; three grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. Lakeland Funeral Home, Lakeland. --Tampa
