AUGUSTA, MO


Augusta is a small town in the Southwest corner of  St. Charles County originally settled by German Homesteaders. Founded in 1836,  Augusta is named after the wife of the founder, Leonard Harrold.
The estimated population of Augusta in 2003, was 219. There were approximately 102 households and 63 families living there.
The town has a total area of  0.3 mi².  All of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Augusta is home to a notable local brewpub, the Augusta Brewing Co., and is also home to the Mount Pleasant Winery.


The Katy Trail is America's longest rails-to-trails path, stretching 225 miles across the US. Most of the trail follows the Missouri River, providing scenic views against the historical backdrop of Lewis & Clark's trail.
