( Contributed by Michael Grumich)

State of Missouri
County of St. Charles } In the St Charles Circuit
Court, March Term 1879
John McMillin, Plaintiff

          VS

Marceline McMillin, Defendant

Plaintiff states that he was married to the Defendant in the St. Charles County Missouri about 15 years ago.  That he has lived in this County all his life. That he has treated defendant at all times properly as his wife. That the defendant has become and is so cross, stubborn, and quarrelsome and has of late so treated plaintiff and the other members of his family and rendered and offered plaintiff and his family such indiquities as to render his and their condition intolerable by cursing, blackguarding, abusing, threatening, and disturbing plaintiff and his family. Wherefore plaintiff prays to be divorced from the bonds of matrimony contracted with defendant and for other proper relief.

Wm. A. Alexander, Atty for Pltf.

Jno McMillin plaintiff says that the facts stated in the foregoing petition are true, to the best of his knowledge and belief and that the complaint is not made out of levity or by collusion, fear or restraint between plaintiff and defendant for the mere purpose of being separated from each other but in sincerity and truth for the causes mentioned in petition.
