Texas County Court House, Missouri Genealogy Trails

This is a photo of the Texas County Court House in Houston, Missouri. Someone had written a message on the back saying that this had been taken in 1907. He also said that the gallows where a young man had been hung were visible behind the building at the lower right side. I assume he was refering to Jodie Hamilton. The ladder in the front may have been placed there so that spectators could climb on top of the building to watch the hanging. This photo may have been taken the day of, or within a day of the hanging.
