| AMANDA EMMALINE (HENSON) BOYKIN |

Amanda Emmaline Henson was born near
Poplar Bluff, Mo., December 6, 1877, and departed this life in the
Mansfield hospital May 25, 1959. Her age, 81 years, five months
and 19 days.
She was united in marriage to John L. Boykin in 1895 in the state of Illinois. Her husband preceded her in death November 11, 1933. To this union nine children were born. Three daughters died in infancy, and one son, Everett, passed away April 16, 1957. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Clara Hamrick, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Dove Lawson, Mrs. Flossie Gaddis, Mrs. Margaret Hutsell, all of Graff, Mo., one son, Roy Boykin also of Graff. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, three sisters and four brothers. She was baptized into the Church of Christ several years ago and was a faithful member until her death. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in the Church of Christ with Roland Adams officiating. Everett Boykin passed away at his home early Tuesday morning,
April 16, 1957 after a long illness at the age of 60 years.
Mr Boykin was in World War I and served overseas. He was born in Bluford, Illinois, February 25, 1897 to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Boykin and was united in marriage to Miss Nicie Sloan on the 8th day of February, 1923 and had lived in Wright County for the last 20 years and had worked as a mechanic. Besides leaving his wife to mourn his passing, he leaves two sons and two daughters, John Boykin of Graff, Donald Boykin of Graff, Helen Hutsell of Graff and Louise Corder of Kansas City, also one brother Roy Boykin of Graff, four sisters, Clara Hamrick of Tulsa, Dove Lawson of Graff, Flossie Gaddis of Graff and Margaret Hutsell of Graff and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the Barber Chapel with Rev. Guy Hutsell, officiating. Graveside memorial services for Harold McCallister were held
Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in the Lone Star Cemetery with Rev. Jerry
Ratterree officiating. Jerry and Irene Ratterree sang “Amazing
Grace,” and “Far Side Banks of Jordan.” Pallbearers were Rick
Williams, Orville Robertson and Willard McCarty. Full military
honors were provided by the American Legion Post 30 and The Lima
Team Burial Detail with Jared Moore serving as bugler. Burial was
in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt
Funeral Home, Mountain Grove, Mo.
Harold Eugene McCallister, son of the late Earl and Lois (Woods) McCallister, was born on August 21, 1928 in Wright County, Mo., and departed this life on April 10, 2008 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Mo., following a long illness. He was 79 years, 7 months, and 20 days of age. Harold grew up in Wright County and served his country in the United States Army for seven years. He entered the service in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1953. He served all seven years in Germany. He was united in marriage to Corrine Coble in April of 1955. Two children were born to this union: Kirk and Eugenia. He later married Mary (Lathrom) Coffman on May 13, 1969 in Eminence, Mo. Harold was a truck driver for several years. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when camping and rabbit hunting. He also liked going to Bluegrass festivals. Harold was a kind and loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his Yorkshire terrier, “Bo.” He was saved while being a resident at the Autumn Oaks Caring Center. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Evelyn. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary McCallister of their home in Mountain Grove; one son, Kirk McCallister of Mountain Grove, Mo.; one daughter, Eugenia McClure of Benton, Ark.; one step son, Kevin Coffman of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two brothers, Wilbert “Mac” McCallister of Shell City, Mo. and Lonnie McCallister of Mountain Grove; three sisters, Neva Kelley of Whittier, Calif., Leta Graham of Nampa, Idaho, and Arlene Symon of Memphis, TN; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much. Cattie Eleanor Fletcher was born to the union of Frank Fletcher
and Martha Cantrell on October 31, 1886, at Astoria, Missouri.
She spent her childhood days in the Astoria community finishing
her formal education in the public schools located in that area.
Cattie was the youngest of a family of five brothers and sisters. As a child she attended Christian services at the Dutch Chapel, Wright County, Missouri, which even at the present time remains an active church. She was converted and joined the Green Mountain Baptist Church on November 14, 1913. She remained a member from that time hence and at the present time she, her husband and a cousin of her husband are the eldest living members on records of the church. On September 1, 1910 she united in marriage with Walter J. Murr, who was born and grew to manhood in the Astoria community. To this union the following were born: Verl Murr, Cabool, Mrs. Merle M. Lisle, Houston, Texas; and Roy Murr, Graff, Missouri. On December 29, 1976, Roy Murr preceded the death of his mother. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Murr passed from this life May 16, 1972 at Texas County Memorial Hospital at Houston, Missouri after an extended illness during which time Mr. Murr cared for her in a devoted loving manner. Funeral services were Thursday, May 18, in Craig-Hurtt-Hutsell Chapel in Mountain Grove with Rev. Normice Fletcher officiating. "What A Friend" and "In Times Like These" were sung by a quartet composed of Lynn Francis, Loman Yeager, Edwin Francis and Mrs. Buck Franklin, Mrs. Charley Franklin accompanied them. Pallbearers were Dean S. Smith, Howard Greenlee, Don Hutsell, Bob Allen, Jim Murr and Joe Murr. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery under direction of Craig-Hurtt-Hutsell. J. B. Quillen died January 21, 1920, aged 74 years, 8 months, and
3 days.
He had been in poor health for two years and bore his suffering with patience and said the Lord was with him in his last hours and that he was willing and ready to go. Everything was done for him that willing hands could do. We will miss our dear grandfather, but our loss is Heaven's gain. He leaves an aged widow and seven children to mourn his loss. The remains were laid to rest in the Curtis Cemetery eight miles south of Hartville last Thursday. Dearest father, thou has left us here, Thy loss we deeply feel But 'tis God that hath bereft us He can sall our sorrows heal. Peacefully we know you're restig, In that home so bright and fair, and we know when life is ended, We will meet our father there. Elsie Ruth Shropshire, daughter of Floyd and Ellen McNutt
Duncan, was born Jun 25, 1925, in Athens County, OH. She
departed this life Tuesday, Sep 13, 1994, in Cox Medical Center
South in Springfield, MO, at the age of 69 years, 2 months and
18 days. On May 1, 1959, she was united in marriage to Jesse
Preston Shropshire in Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband Jesse on Aug 23, 1994; 2 sisters
Thelma and Marjorie Duncan; and a brother Otis Duncan. Elsie is
survived by 2 daughters Ruth Geho of the state of Ohio, and
Louella Sutton and her husband Rodney of Hartville, MO; 3
sisters Agnes Walker, Edith Kerns and Garnet Byers, all of the
state of Ohio; a number of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a
host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in
Ohio and met and married Jesse while living in Columbus, OH.
They continued to live in Ohio until 1971, when they moved to
Wright County, MO, to the Little Creek community. Throughout
the years, she was a loving and devoted homemaker to her husband
and family. Elsie professed her faith in Christ and was an
active member of Little Creek Baptist Church for as long as her
health allowed. She was a children's Sunday School teacher for
many years, and also enjoyed helping in Bible School. She loved
children and always considered the church children to be very
special to her. She liked to work and help out at the church in
her extra spare time. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her
lawn, and liked to do crocheting. Elsie was a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and was a kind and
caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and
greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Burial:

Jesse Preston Shropshire, son of Barney Calvin and Ellen Oella
Sickles Shropshire, was born Aug 17, 1901, in Wright County,
MO. He departed this life Tuesday, Aug 23, 1994 in Cox Medical
Center South in Springfield, MO, at the age of 93 years and 6
days. On May 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to Elsie Ruth
Duncan in Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his
parents; 2 daughters Margie and Jessie Ann; a son Ivan; an
infant brother; and another brother Herb. Jesse is survived by
his wife Elsie of the home; 2 daughters Louella Sutton and her
husband Rodney of Hartville, MO, and Irene Myers of San Lorenzo,
CA; 2 brothers Berlin and Cecil Shropshire, both of Hartville,
MO; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and
raised in Wright County, MO, and then spent some time in
California before moving to Columbus, OH, where he met and
married Elsie. They continued to live in Columbus until 1971,
when they moved to Wright County to the Little Creek Community
area. Throughout the years, he worked as an electrician, and
was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical
workers #401. Jesse had professed his faith in Christ and was a
member of First Baptist Church of Hartville. For the last
several years, he had attended services at Little Creek Baptist
Church. His family was very special to him and he was devoted
to his wife and children. He enjoyed gardening and working on
his farm. Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and
friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all

Funeral services for Ricky Wiyrick were held Saturday, August 11,
2007, in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Pastor Jack Keith
officiating. Song selections were “Amazing Grace”, “There Will
Come A Day”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Pallbearers were
Louie Medley, Mark Boykin, Mike Boykin, Darren Dobbs, Jerald
Robertson, and John Freeman. Burial was in Curtis Cemetery near
Norwood, under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home,
Mountain Grove, Mo.
Ricky Leroy Wiyrick, son of Paul Nathaniel and Deloris Jean (Mercer) Wiyrick, was born on July 18, 1956 in Montpelier, Ohio and departed this life suddenly on August 7, 2007 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Mo. He was 51 years and 20 days of age. Rick grew up and attended school in Ohio and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1974. He was united in marriage to Karen Gruber and two sons were born to this union. They moved to the Mountain Grove area in 1983 where Rick made his home until his passing. Rick was an assistant manager of the North Casey’s General Store. He enjoyed working and will be missed by those who knew him. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially when camping and canoeing. He also liked bowling, dart throwing, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. He was a member of the area bowling and dart throwing leagues.
