Janis Sheldon Fulmer transcribed some Montana documents to share with other genealogists. She was born in Butte, Montana. I quote: “Hello, my ancestor from Beaverhead County are Enos Sheldon. Enos Sheldon mined in Bannack around 1864. He left his new wife Jane in MO. where they were married.
He was part of the vigilantes in Bannack.
He was a quartz miner and a prospector.
Jane Netherton, wife of Enos Sheldon joined him in Butte in 1870.
Other ancestors are Harry Mcneal. He migrated from Grundy County MO. to Ravalli County around 1884.
He came with his brothers Charles and James Drake, who went on the the Yukon
Harry farmed and married Margaret Adair who came to Hamilton as a child.
Harry worked at the “Labs” there set up to stdy the Rocky Mountain fever. He was bitten by a tick and died of Rocky Mountain Fever in 1895. Harry was only 28 years old and left three children, Clyde, Lawrence and Blanch.
Margaret married again to Newman Bloggett.
I have this family back to 1738 when they came to America.

Tillman Adair came to Ravalii County in 1886 with a second wife, Emily Rennaker. His daughter is Margaret Adair, Mcneal,Bloggett. He served in the Civil War for MO. and was in the Union Army. I have his military records. He was born in White County, TN in 1846 and his parents were William L. Adair and Martha Brown. His grandparents were James Adair and Margaret Pettit. He died in 1918 at the age of 74.



John and Mary Shea Brosnahan were from Ireland .
They went to Virginia City, Nevada to work in the mines.
Butte was their their next home in 1880. They lived in
Walkerville, a suburb of Butte. John died in 1908.
