INTERPRETIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE BLACKFEET NATION
An agreement, with the Blackfeet Nation, to develop and interpret the fur and robe trade era at old Fort Benton is in place.
Elders from the Blood or Kainai tribe, the Siksika, the Northern Peigan or Pikanii, and the Southern Piegan or Pikuni tibes recorded their oral history and family remembrances of Fort Benton, as the first step in incorporating the Blackfeet Nation's interpretation. Subsequent visits have been made by the Elder's, to view display development, and to offer their support and encouragement
