Great Falls Tribune (MT) - January 2, 1999- C. Horton
Florence Emma (Elliott) Young
Retired Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce executive Florence Emma (Elliott) Young, 73, of Queens Court No. 4, 200 13th Ave. S., died Thursday in a local hospital of natural causes.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Monday in Highland Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Croxford & Sons Funeral Home.
She was born May 10, 1925, in Dillon, and was raised on the family farm north of Fort Benton. She attended Vimy Ridge rural grade school, Fort Benton High School, Northwestern Business College and Kinman Business University, both of Spokane. She was a secretary in the Chouteau County Extension Office from 1944 to 1945 and a secretary to Chouteau County Attorney J. W. Lynch from 1945 to 1946.
On Aug. 29, 1946 she married Kenneth Arthur Young in Fort Benton he died in 1948.
From 1946 until 1948 she was secretary to Bessie M. McClelland, State Home Demonstration Leader for the Montana Extension Service in Bozeman, and from 1948 until 1972 she worked at the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, starting as a secretary and retiring as a staff executive.
Young was active in the Great Falls Advertising Club, performed office services for the Great Falls Auto Dealers' Association, and was a member of First Christian Church in Fort Benton and Bethany Chapter No. 42, Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Benton.  Surviving are a son, Ron A. Young of Bellingham, Wash. a sister, Margaret A. Griffin of Redmond, Wash. and three grandchildren
