County seat is Glendive, established in Jan. 15, 1869. The other towns are Richey and West Glendive.

The Custer Vacation Guide states that Glendive is centered between Fargo, ND
and Yellowstone National Park. Gledive is able to offer a wealth of history, including dinosaur digs, Historic District tours and the Frontier Gateway Museum.
Makoshika State Park is Montana’s largest state park gem offers a step back into a time of dinosaurs. It is just outside of Glendive.
