County seat is Glendive, established in Jan. 15, 1869. The other towns are Richey and West Glendive.

Adjacent Counties: Northeast: Richland County, Southwest: Prairie, Southeast:Wibaux County, Northwest: McCone County

The Custer Vacation Guide states that Glendive is centered between Fargo, ND and Yellowstone National Park.
Glendive is able to offer a wealth of history, including dinosaur digs, Historic District tours and the Frontier Gateway Museum.

Makoshika State Park is Montana’s largest state park gem offers a step back into a time of dinosaurs. It is just outside of
Glendive.
