County seat is Glendive, established in Jan. 15, 1869. The other towns are Richey and West Glendive.

ORGANIZATION
The Dawson County Adult Detention / Correction Facility is operated under the authority of the Dawson County Sheriff. The facility houses both the county jail, and a regional prison contracted to the Montana Department of Corrections. The Facility Administrator directly supervises the operation of both the prison and the jail.
