MSG Dennis Curtis Kidd, Korean War Veteran, Vietnam War Veteran, Native of Graham, NC.
Master Sergeant Dennis Curtis Kidd was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, MSG Kidd served our country until August 4th, 1964 in South Vietnam. He was 36 years old and was married. It was reported that Dennis died from multiple fragmentation wounds when he was ambushed. His body was recovered. Dennis was born on December 14th, 1927 in Graham, North Carolina. MSG Kidd is on panel 01E, line 060 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 16 years.
He was traveling by jeep when ambushed by enemy forces. Killed with him were his Captain, and a Mountainard Soldier. MSG Kidd was a trainer with Special Forces.
He served with Detachment A5-132, 5th Special Forces Group, Special Forces Vietnam.
He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The Korean Servce Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal(s).
