US Marine PFC Robert Glenn Burr, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Wadesboro, NC. He was born July 10, 1948 in Wadesboro, Anson County, North Carolina.
US Marine Private First Class Robert Glenn Burr was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marine Corps, PFC Burr served our country until February 13th, 1968 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Robert died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. PFC Burr is on panel 39E, line 017 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.
He was the brother of Edgar Burr, Son of Mr and Mrs Sidney A Burr, 80 Second Street, Wadesboro, NC.
He served with Alpha Company, 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 3rd MAF.
He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
