Alma G. Burns

Valdese -- Alma Glasbrook Burns, 73, of Valdese, died Friday at an area hospital following a period of declining health. Born Nov. 7, 1914, in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late John and Carie D. Glasbrook. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ in Morganton. Suvivors include her husband, Paul Burns; a son, Richard Burns of Missouri; a daughter, Elaine Lawson of Valdese; two sisters, Lucille Poovey and Mrs. C.O. Teague of Valdese; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Mark Hudson and Tony Forrest at 10:30 a.m. today in the Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Enon Baptist Church cemetery. (The Hickory Daily Record, Hickory, NC, December 21, 1987).
