To His Excellency Andrew Johnson President U.S.
The undersigned Petitioner, Dennis D. Ferabee respectfully represents That he is a resident of the County of Camden, State of North Carolina - is a farmer by occupation, and now in his forty eigth year of age.
Your petitioner has always been conservative in politics - a disbeliver in the doctrine of secesion, and an advocate of the National Government. He was a member of the State Legislature at the Sesion 60 & 61, and afford their call of a Convention, the object of which was to _________ an ordinance of secesion. When however, the Convention was ordered, your petitioner, without being a candidate and while absent from his county, was elected to deal in the same. He, like others in that Convention, was influenced to sign the ordinance of secesion.
Subsequently, when the other States of the South had taken a stand, and had _____to make a common cause, he accepted, in August /62, under the general excitement, a com mizion of colonel of the 4th N.C. Cavalry, which unsolicited was tenedered hi. This commizion

he resigned in March 1865 and returned home.
At the date of your Excellency's Anmnesty Proclamation, the undersigned was not (and since has not been the owner of any property of note, except real estate. He is in doubt what value will be placed on these lands. In 1861, when said lands were last returned, the taxable valueation was a little short of $19.000.
Now, being somewhat in doubt as to the proper interfere lation which is placed on the 13 excepted clause in said Amnesty Proclamation - and with a ________ to the quiet enjoyment of his property ( as he is fully perposed in mind to remain, in good faith, a time and loyal citizen) he respectfully, askes to be pardoned of all pains and pinalties, under which he is made liable to the said 13th clause, and that he be restored to all his rights.

Your petitioner has taken and subscribed the oaths of Amnesty, a copy of which is hereto assended. He further declares his intention to abserve the same in good faith.
