Mildred Elizabeth Basnett Poole
Mildred Elizabeth Basnett Poole, 95, of Frisco, died Saturday, Nov. 1, in Nags Head. Mrs. Poole was born in Frisco and was a homemaker and a member of Little Grove United Methodist Church.
Born in Frisco, she was the daughter of the late Rutherford Hayes and Margaret Van Basnett, and the widow of Milton L. Poole.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Ann Gray and husband Harry M. of Avon and Bonnie Elaine Jones of Frisco; grandchildren, Tanya Watkins and husband Tom, Kevin Morris Jones, Karen Browning, Kendall Pyron and husband Landrum, James Hall and wife Kim, Dana Phillips, Jennifer Stone and husband Raymond and Allen Poole; a "special son" David Basnett and wife Tina; and relatives Grace Jeanette, Calvin and Millie Burrus, Elmore Gray, Steve Smith and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Poole was pre-deceased by her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Smith and brother Rutherford Hayes Basnett, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at Little Grove United Methodist Church in Frisco, Wednesday Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Corey Oliver. Visitation Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Grove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 328 Frisco, NC 27936.
Twiford Island Chapel Hatteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
