Lois Laura Johnson, 92, of Mashburn White Road, Franklin, N.C., passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in a local hospital. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late Lyman L. Sweatman and Roxie Ann Nichols Sweatman. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, can and freeze, cook and bake. She loved the family gatherings. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her three sons-in-law were very special in her life as well. She was a member of Cartoogechaye Baptist Church. She was married to the late G. Frank Johnson, who passed away in 1974.
She is survived by three daughters, Jessie Wilson of Sylva, N.C., Shirley Dillard and her husband, Earl and Evelyn Southard and her husband, Stan all of Franklin, NC; four grandchildren, Terry Wilson, Steve Wilson, Kathy Dillard and Marty Southard; five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Ann Ruff.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Carson Gibson officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
