Ollie Mytima Gibson Grindstaff, age 95, left this world for a better place on Sunday, April 27, 2008. She was a daughter of the late Charles Alexander Gibson and Mytima Leigh Harvey Gibson of Old Fort. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, George Reid Grindstaff; three sisters, Maggie G. Brown, Sallie G. Butterfield, Jennie G. Pierson; one brother, Charlie Gibson; a son-in-law, Bobby Lytle;and a grandson-in-law, Terry Smith. She is survived by two daughters and two sons: Lucille G. Lytle of Old Fort, Joyce Ann (Sigmon) Grindstaff of Old Fort, Glenn Grindstaff, and wife, Nancy, of Marion, Ray Grindstaff and wife, Joyce, of Wheelwright, Ky.; and a former son-in-law, William Sigmon of Old Fort. Thirteen grandchildren: Sandra L. Carpenter and J.W. of Old Fort, Susan L. Bolick and Lynn of Lenoir, Robin L. Smith of Old Fort, David Lytle and Loretta of Old Fort, Tina S. Grindstaff and Barry of Morganton, Tami S. Schultz of Old Fort, Billy Sigmon and Debra of Old Fort, Joey Sigmon and Aleshia of Old Fort; Cindy Grindstaff of Marion, Tracy Grindstaff of Marion; Eric Grindstaff and Kathy of Marion, Shannon G. Scell and Bill of Shelby, Deanna G. Peeler and Allan of Ellenboro, a former grandson-in-law, Robbie Schultz of Marion. Nineteen great-grandchildren: Nathan Smith, Rylie, Dawson, & Dylan Lytle; Chelsea, Chandler, & Chad Grindstaff, Jordi & Graci Schultz, Breanna, Brooklyn & Garrett Sigmon; Joshua & Caleb Grindstaff, Britney Murray & husband, Wade, CaLeigh, & Chase Scell; Amanda & Katelyn Peeler. One great-great-granddaughter: Heartleigh RayeAnne Murray. Also surviving is a special friend and caregiver, Jennifer Parker, of Union Mills. The family will meet with friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning at Kirksey Funeral Home in Old Fort, funeral services will follow at noon, and burial at Bethlehem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Calvary's Hope Baptist Church, c/o Pastor Ray Grindstaff, P.O. Box 46, Wheelwright, Ky. 41669.
