Francis Nash Esq. having procured a commission from the honourable Ben Herson Esq. appointing him clerk of the County of Orange into open court, after having taken the several oaths. Perscribed by Law for the Qualifications of publick Office.
Subscribes the test—
Ordered that Robert Cate Sr be recommended to the West assembly to be exempt from paying Publick Taxes.
On motion of Robert Cate tis ordered that his mark be recommended to wit—a crop in the right ear and a slit in the left ear.
Grand Jury impaneled and sworn to wit: Solomon Debois, Jacob Womack, George Sallings, William Williams, John Cate, George Hobbs Jr, Simon York, William Williams, William Roder, Moses Teaque, Thomas Douglass, Robert Donaldson, Robert Patterson and John Armstrong and having received the charge.

AUG 1763 COURT
Ordered that Mourning Milton dau of Robert Milton dec be committed to the care and tuition of Mr. Robert Cate Junr. On his giving bond with Thomas Cate. Security in the sum of fifty pounds proclamation money for the due performance of his said office.
