1754   An act was passed in Orange County, NC, establishing the site of the courthouse on the lands of JAMES WATSON near where the Indian Trading Path crossed the Enos River.   The town laid out here was later named Hillsborough.   JAMES WATSON purchased a lot in town of Hillsborough in 1757.   In 1766 Robert Watson bought a lot.
