Audrey LoCoco
Audrey Paisley LoCoco, 81, died Dec. 4, 2001, in Chapel Hill, NC., at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Gordon Mitchell.
She also is survived by her husband of 44 years, Anthony J. LoCoco, and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Steiner, and her brother, Clarence Paisley of Rushville.
She was born in Schuyler County, Illinois, on Oct. 4, 1920, to Elizabeth and Earl Paisley.
After graduating from Rushville High School in 1938, she attended St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield. Following the death of her first husband, George French, during W.W. II, she became a stewardess for Pan American Airways based in Brownsville, Texas. In the late 1940s, she married L. N. Steiner and settled in New Orleans, where she was the operator of Tico Tico Imports for more than 30 years. She was married to Anthony LoCoco on Nov. 15, 1957. Since July 2000, they enjoyed life together in the Gulf Coast resort community of Diamondhead, Miss. The love of travel remained with her throughout her life. She and "Tony" traveled around the globe, and in later years the United States and Canada in their much-loved motor home.
A memorial service will be held at University Presbyterian Church, Chapel Hill, NC., on Dec. 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Triangle Hospice, 1001 Corporate Dr., Hillsborough, N.C. 27278, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, Inc.
