Nellie L. Woody
The funeral for Nellie Lee Woody, 77, who died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Duke University Medical Center, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, in The Church of God in Christ Jesus by Pastor Alice McKnight Dickens. Burial will be in the Peace Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Woody was a member of The Church of God in Christ Jesus.
Surviving are six daughters, Cleo Palmer, Emma Alston, Joyce Hawley, Judy Cantoni, Zinner Downey and Sherl Murphy; five sons, Leon Parker, John Edward Downey, William Henry Downey, Willie C. Downey and Jimmie Downey; three sisters, Clara Williams, Dorothy Cuzman and Mildred Daniels; two brothers, Randolph Daniels and Edward Daniels; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Cunningham & Nelson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Zinner Downey, 220 S. St., Roxboro.
