Lillian Hodgin Delk, 84, formerly of Asheboro, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, in Wilmington.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Holder, the Rev. George Roberson and the Rev. Dr. Don Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County in the Holly Springs area, graduated Valedictorian at Ramseur High School and attended Woman’s College, now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was past president of the United Methodist Women. She was a past president of Business & Professional Women’s Club, co-owner and operator of Delk Florist, a member of N.C. Florist Association where she was awarded Designer of the Year, co-owner of Ma’ma’s Kitchen and secretary-treasurer of Randford, Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Delk Jr.
Surviving are son, Joseph C. Delk III of Lenoir; daughter, Dee Delk Scarborough of Wilmington; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson.
