Pumpkin Cookies
2-1/2c flour
4tsp. baking powder
1-1/2tsp. salt
1tsp. cinnamon
1/4tsp. ginger
1/4tsp. nutmet
1/4tsp. allspice
1/3c shortening
1-1/2c packed brown sugar
3 eggs
1c pumpkin
1/2 tsp orange extract
1 c nuts
1c raisins

Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice. In large bowl, cream together, shortening, white sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Blend in pumpkin and orange rind. Add flour mixture, then pecans and raisins. Reserve 2 tablespoons of raisons and pecans for top of cookies. Drop cookies by tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
