Jeff Davis Pie
5 large eggs
3c sugar
1/2c real butter
1tsp salt
2tsp vanilla
1 large can evaporated milk
2 - 9" pie shells

Cream sugar adn butter. Add eggs and beat by hand until frothey and lemon color. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Pour into 2 unbaked pie shells. Bake slow until golden brown, about 1 hour.


Old Fashion Sugar Cream Pie
1-1/2c. sugar
1/2c flour
Pinch of salt (1/8t)
1c whipping cream
3/4c. whole milk
1tsp. vanilla
1 unbaked pie shell

Mix well sugar, flour and salt. Add whipping cream, milk and vanilla. Pour into 9" pie shell. Top with dabs of butter and sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 325 degrees and bake an additional 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
