ALEXANDER, Nathaniel; graduated at Princeton College in 1776, and after studying medicine, entered the army. At the close of the war resided at the High Hills of Santee, pursuing his profession, and aftewards at Mecklenburg. While he held a seat in Congress, as a Representative from North Carolina, from 1803 to 1805, the Legislature elected him Governor for 1806. Died at Salisbury, March 8, 1808, aged fifty-two. In all his public stations he discharged his duty with ability and firmness.
