Philip Marchant Rowland, 68, of Oakhurst Nursing Home died Friday at his residence.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Chapel United Methodist Cemetery, Kittrell.
A native of Vance County, he was a farmer, a graduate of Vance High School in Kittrell, and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving are sisters, Gladys Rowland Vincent of Greensboro, Mary Earle Rowland of Baltimore; brother, Raeford Rowland of Greensboro.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence of Gladys R. Vincent, 3911 Dogwood Drive, Greensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 706 North Greene St., Greensboro, N.C. 27401; or to Parkway Baptist Church, 1411 Benjamin Parkway, Greensboro, N.C. 27408.

Kenneth K. Roberson, Henderson police chief since 1972, has died of complications of a heart attack.
Roberson, 62, died early Sunday at Duke Medical Center, where he had been listed in critical condition since a heart attack Jan. 4, the Police Department said.
After serving in the Navy in 1945 and 1946, the Henderson native became Vance County constable in 1953, then served as the county's deputy sheriff from 1955 to 1972.

HENDERSON - William Eugene "Billy" Brack Jr., 58, of Route 6 died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at J.M. White Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.
A native of Vance County, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the Henderson Moose Lodge. He was a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Concetta Musino Brack; daughters, Mrs. Mariella Brack Matthews of Raleigh, Mrs. Rosanna Brack Foley of Winchester, Va.; sons, William E. "Geno" Brack III of Henderson, Michael N. Brack of Jacksonville; mother, Mrs. Louella Mitchell Brack Grissom of Henderson; stepfather, Walter Grissom of Henderson; brother, Randolph Brack of Raleigh.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the residence of his mother and stepfather in Cokesbury community.

HENDERSON - Mr. Lewis Thomas Hicks, 79, of Route 2 died Tuesday at Maria Parham Hospital.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Vance County, he was a retired tobacco farmer and a member of the Men's Bible Class at his church.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Ovie Ayscue Hicks; daughters, Mrs. Nellie Gray Newton of Henderson, Mrs. Marie H. Newton of the home; sisters, Mrs. Sue H. Grahl of Greensboro, Mrs. Lucille H. Thompson of Warrenton; brothers, Pryor Hicks of Raleigh, Arthur Hicks of Greensboro; two grandchildren.

Butler Roberson, 73, of 4701 Summit Ave. died Friday at Greensboro Hospital.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
A native of Vance County, he was a retired employee of Southern Webbing Mill and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Betty R. Sizemore of Reidsville, Mrs. Pearlie R. Anderson of Raleigh, Ms. Charlotte J. Roberson, Mrs. Daisy R. Crofoot, both of Henderson; sons, Johnny Roberson of Greensboro, Michael Roberson of Stokesdale, Tex Roberson of Julian; sisters, Mrs. Daisy Short, Mrs. Myrtle Tuck, both of Henderson; 18 grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence of Johnny Roberson, 3625 Miller Drive.
