RALEIGH - Floyd P. Barnes, 67, of
1008 Deerfield Drive died Friday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Millbrook United
Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Military burial will
be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Sunset Gardens in Henderson.
A native of Vance County,
he was a graduate of North Carolina State University and a
retired field engineer for school planning at the N.C.
Department of Public Instruction. He was an Army veteran of
World War II, a member of the National Society of Professional
Engineers, and a member of the American Society of Civil
Engineers.
Surviving are wife, Trudie H. Barnes; sons, Floyd P. Barnes
Jr. of Cary, Charles W. Barnes of Ridgecrest, Calif., Benjamin
L. Barnes of Smithfield, Brian H. Barnes of Raleigh; brothers,
James Thomas Barnes, William C. Barnes, both of Henderson,
Edwin Barnes of Richardson, Texas; sister, Ladie B. Daniels of Henderson;
six grandchildren; one step-grandchild.
The family will be at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 7-9 p.m.
Sunday.

Methodist Church Building Fund, or to Hospice of Wake County,

ASHEBORO - Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" White
Keeling, 60, of Route 2, Sophia, died Friday at N.C. Baptist
Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pleasant Cross
Christian Church cemetery.
A native of Vance County,
she was a homemaker.
Surviving are husband, Gordon Keeling Sr.; sons, Gordon
Keeling Jr., David Keeling, both of Asheboro; daughter, Mrs.
Linda Pruitt of Randleman; brothers, Jack White, Cecil White,
Rueben White, all of Henderson,
Thomas White of Ekeechobee, Fla.; sister, Mrs. Dorothy Renn of Henderson;
nine grandchildren.
The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today.

HIGH POINT - Funeral for Albert
Thomas Wilkerson, 54, of 222 Grand Street, who died
Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reavis Memorial Baptist
Church. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
A native of Vance County,
he was a truck driver for J&S Truck Service, an Air Force
veteran of the Korean War, and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are wife, Deloris Kennedy Wilkerson; daughters,
Mrs. Denise Jolly of High Point, Miss Katie A. Wilkerson of the
home; sons, Keith R. Wilkerson of Sophia, Danny E. Wilkerson of
the home, Charles D. Wilkerson of Temple, Texas; mother, Katie
Campbell Wilkerson of Henderson; sisters, Mrs. Sally Cash of
Oxford, Mrs. Dorothy Wright, Mrs. Ruth Dickerson, both of
Henderson; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild.
The family will be at Sechrest Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m.
Tuesday. int Regional Hospital.

HENDERSON -- Algernon
Augustus Zollicoffer Jr. a former state legislator and leader of
the N.C. Bar Association, died Wednesday at his home after a
brief illness. He was 67.
Mr. Zollicoffer was elected to the state House of
Representatives in 1956. He served in the House for 10 years and
was chairman of the Appropriations Committee. Active in
the legal profession, Mr. Zollicoffer served as president of the
Vance County
Bar Association and was a member of the Board of Governors of
the N.C. Bar Association. He joined the family law firm of
Zollicoffer and Zollicoffer in Henderson, established by his
grandfather more than a century ago, and was the senior member
of the firm at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Lewis Zollicoffer; a son,
Allison Caulaincourt Zollicoffer II of Charlotte; three
daughters, Jane Crichton Zollicoffer of Greensboro, Fannie
Cooper Zollicoffer of Washington and Ellen Lewis Zollicoffer of
Raleigh; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Church of
the Holy Innocents in Henderson.
