Mrs. Fannie Foster Coley, 77, of
Charlotte died July 31, 1993, at home.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens. Visitation
is 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Grier Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coley, a Vance County
native, was a retired Mecklenburg County
school teacher with memberships in the N.C. Association of
Educators, National
Educators Association, Classroom Teachers Association,
National Retired Teachers Association and N.C. Retired Persons
Association. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church,
where she was a member of its Women's Auxiliary and was a
Young Adult Sunday school teacher. She was a member of
Minister's Wives Club, Mount Peace Minister's Wives and Mount
Peace Women's Auxiliary. She also was a member of Gama Phi
Delta Sorority.
Survivors are her husband, Alonzo; sons, Alonzo Coley Jr.
of Walkersville,

GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Beulah Ayscue
Roberson, 78, of 912 Whitsett St. died June 14, 1993,
at Alamance Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church,
Henderson, where she was a member. Burial will be in Sunset
Gardens, Henderson.
A native of Vance County,
she was retired from Minneola of Cone Mills.
Surviving are husband, Otis Roberson; son, Henry Roberson of
Burlington; daughter, Mrs. Patricia R. Gerringer of Gibsonville;
sisters, Miss Zola Ayscue of Henderson,
Mrs. Cassie A. Roberson of Staunton, Va.; ten grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Bartlett Funeral Home 7-9 tonight,
other times at the home a daughter, Miss. Zola Ayscue, 516
Harrett St., Henderson.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Faulkner
"Ma" Hoyle, 96, formerly of Melody Lane,
died Jan. 25, 1993, at Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance
Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Pentecostal
Holiness Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in
Alamance Memorial Park.
A native of Vance County,
she was a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, the Rev. Earl Hoyle, Paul Hoyle, Beacham
Hoyle, all of Burlington, the Rev. Robert Hoyle of Patrick
Springs, Va., Wheeler Hoyle of Graham, Al Hoyle of Palm Coast,
Fla., the Rev. Bobby Hoyle of Greensboro; daughters, Mrs.
Dorothy Robinson of Henderson, Mrs. Ruth Qualls, Mrs. Catherine
Michael, both of Burlington, Mrs. Bertha Mullins of Cincinnati,
Mrs. Pauline Tate of Elon College; sister, Mrs. Roselle F.
Robertson of Henderson; 37 grandchildren; 43
great-grandchildren; 1 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home 7-9 tonight, other

RANDLEMAN - Patricia P. Adams,
40, of 9135 U.S. 220 Business North died April 20, 1993, at her
home.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park in Randleman.
A native of Vance County,
she was a Sara Lee Knit Products employee.
Surviving are sons, Tracy L. Adams Jr. of Randleman, Trinity
J. Adams of the home; sisters, Linda Leiber of Asheboro, Joann
Dickerson of Henderson.

Funeral for Eddie Hargrove
of 1208 Ross Ave., who died Jan. 4, 1993, at Wesley Long
Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Stephen
United Church of Christ, of which he was a member. Burial will
be in Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown.
A native of Vance County,
he attended Hampton University, Hampton, Va., and N.C. A&T
He taught at Hampton University and in public schools of
Indianapolis, Ind., and Rockville, Md. He was assistant
professor of education and director of Veterans Affairs at
A&T. He was a veteran of World War II, was involved with the
YMCA, United Services for Old Adults, and the NAACP. He was a
member of Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, Greensboro Alumni
Chapter Alpha Psi, and the American Association of University
Professors.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Henrietta Hood Hargrove; son, John
Frank Kersey of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Boyd Hargrove of
Manson, Howard Hargrove of Neptune, N.J., Robert L. Hargrove of
Washington, D.C.; sisters, Mary L. Terry, Carrie Bullock, both
of Henderson, Jessie Hunter of
Portsmouth, Va., Rose Terry, Virginia Boyd, both of Manson; four
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 12:30-1 p.m. Saturday.

Greensboro, N.C.

MADISON - Asa Brooks Evans,
59, of Route 4, Box 356-A died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1993, at
Stokes-Reynolds Hospital, Danbury.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist
Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Vance County,
he was a manager of Everything's A Dollar store, Winston-Salem,
and former manager of TG&Y, Madison, for 12 years. He was an
Army veteran.
Surviving are wife, Jewell Harlow Evans; sons, Lannie Wayne
Evans of Bassett, Va., Randy Brooks Evans of the home, Kevin
Dwight Evans of King, Keith Douglas Evans of Madison; brothers,
Marshall Evans of Raleigh, Carl Evans of Henderson; sister, Jane
Evans Hughes of Henderson; grandchildren, Tiffany, Chelsea,
Cole, and Brandon.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Colonial
Funeral Home.
