Jesse
L. Root, prosecuting attorney of Cass County,
is an excellent example of the county practitioner

a farm. November 27, 1860, and received
a common education in the schools of Illinois
and Michigan.

Gage County, where he owned and tilled a
farm.
During
the fall of 1886 Mr. Root located in Plattsmouth,
and in the following year he was admitted
to the bar.
He
formed a partnership with Allen Beeson in
1889 and the firm continued in active practice
for nine years, being dissolved in June,
1898.
At
the November election of last year Mr. Root
was elected county attorney, this being
the first public office every held by him,
