County Heads for Women's Part Named

Ask Business Firms Offer Special Prizes in Scrap Campaign

Names of 91 Nebraska women who have been appointed to serve as women's county contest chairmen in the Nebraska salvage drive were announced Thursday by Mrs. George Grimes, Omaha, chairman of the women's division.

The women on the list represent all but two of Nebraska's 93 counties.  The chairman for Blaine County is yet to be named, and no special women's division will be organized in Douglas County, where general organization already has reached an advanced stage.

"The women on this list make up one of the strongest groups ever banded together in this state,"  said Mrs. Grimes.  "They are chosen from among county superintendents, chairmen of defense committees, members of salvage committees, and members of the Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs."

Mrs. Grimes has also asked 16 Nebraska business men to offer special contest prizes for women and women's organizations, and has requested local newspapers to give full support to the women's salvage efforts in their own communities.  These are expected to take the shape of band concerts, home talent plays, dances, baseball games, rodeos and parties, all of which would require scrap metal and rubber as admission fees.
