The musical entertainment of Prof. Leighton at the city hall
Friday night was quite a success. A
handsome profit was derived from the sale of tickets, which goes to the Union
Sunday School.
Rev. Barnes, an Adventist Minister from Iona,
La., is holding evening meetings at the
city hall.
The water works force that has been laying pipes at South
Omaha returned Friday night, having finished its work there. This will necessitate the laying off of a few
men for several days.
The Forest Lawn association has been cutting expenses by
laying off the florist, W. H. Morse, who goes to San
Francisco in a few days. Mr. Morse has been with the association over
five years. The rest of the employees
work a month and then lay off a month.
The Water Works Company is putting in a set of new scales at
the pump house to be used in weighing coal received in cars.
