Mrs.
Earl Confer,

make
yourself known to Sec. W. S. Found

It
is not known if Mrs. Taylor came to the fair, but her daughter sent the
following letter in 1986 when the Haigler Centennial Committee was
preparing a centennial book. The following letter is found on
page 97 of that volumn.

April 3, 1986
Haigler Centennial Committee,
Haigler Nebraska
This is to inform you that my mother, Zora Belle Taylor was
the
first baby born in Haigler, Nebr., to David and Jennie Taylor on
Christmas Day, December 25, 1885.
Zora was married to
Earl Confer and I am their oldest daughter. I read in the St.
Francis Herald that you are looking for some old history for the
Haigler Centennial. I thought you might want this information
for
your paper.
Here is a copy of a letter that was sent to
Mother asking her to come to Haigler and make an appearance at your
fair.
Sincerely,
Ruby I. Denman |
