Max Cemetery
![]() This view is just to the right of the cemetery. The trees line the Republican River which wiped out the cemetery in 1935. Headstones that were salvaged were moved to the Benkelman cemetery. Contributed by: Bill Hardwick January 28, 2008 This cemetery is located in Dundy county, NE, and was completely wiped out by the Republican River flood in 1935. It was located in a cornfield which is now a part of the Frank Lutz farm. This cemetery is about 1 mile west of Max; .1 tenth of a mile west of the intersection of Ave 343 and Highway 34. Private property; request permission before visiting. GPS reading: North 40 degrees, 05.44 minutes; West 101 degrees, 25.173 minutes. Elevation: 2,921. Available records and old-timer knowledge indicate the following burials at the Max cemetery. |
