James and Henry. John C. Ough established the first postoffice and
store there and was the first postmaster. The village of Ough was a
thrifty business center and promising town for several years but has
disappeared with the development of good roads. Its location still
marks the center of the county's finest agricultural lands. |

first bore the name of Cleveland but was later named for his opponent,
