Greeley County, Nebraska
Irish Catholic Colonization Society

In the year 1879, through the efforts of the Rt. Rev. James O'Connor, the Irish Catholic Colonization Society bought several large tracts of land in Greeley county, Nebraska. Since that date Greeley county has been rapidly settled, and at the present time there are two large Catholic communities within its limits. With very few exceptions the Catholics who have settled in Greeley county have prospered to a marked degree.
