Tyler Dies From Stab

Special Dispatch to the World-Herald

Grand Island, Nebraska, June 13. – Frank D. Tyler of Chicago, who was stabbed by a “hobo” here last Saturday night, died yesterday of his wounds and the remains were shipped to his home.

Officers are on the trail of the murderer.

Grand Island, Nebraska, September 19.– Special to the News:A special from Cairo, Nebraska, to the Independent says:

When a young man named Smith, who had been arraigned here charged with beating his mother, attempted to return to that village lastnight, he was met at the depot by fifty citizens, who gave him a ticket to Ravenna and indicated to him that he could take the ticket, get on and forget Ciaro, or stay and take the consequences.He took the ticket and continued his journey on the same train.

His brother was sentenced to thirty days in jail for assaulting his mother.

The mother is a widow and runs a restaurant.She tried to defend the boys.
