J. J. Peters
J. J. Peters, an old resident and large ranch owner
of the state, died at his home near St. Libory, Neb., early Thursday morning
after an illness of ten days.
Mr. Peters was 70 years old and his death was due
to the general breakdown in health caused by his advancing age.
He was born in
Germany in 1832 and came to this country in 1882, settling at that time on the
ranch which he owned near St. Libory. His life was passed there and the ranch
was developed into one of the finest in Nebraska.
Two of his sons are residents
of Omaha. H. B. Peters, proprietor and H. M. Peters, manager of the Merchants Hotel. His wife, two other sons and a daughter also survive him. P. B. Peters
lives at Grand Island. Fred N. Peters is manager of the ranch and Mrs. Schmidt
is a resident of St. Libory.
The two Omaha sons left this morning to attend the
funeral, which will be held at Worms, Neb., Saturday.
