Crushed Under Car
Mrs. Dora Ensminger, Born in Jefferson County, Instantly Killed in Colorado

The many friends of Mrs. Dora Ensminger were shocked to learn of her sudden death last Sunday at 2 o'clock in an automobile accident near her home at Holyoke, Colo. With her family, Mrs. Ensminger was riding, her husband at the wheel. He lost control of the car in some manner and it turned over, pinning her underneath. She died almost instant when taken out. Fred Riley, son-in-law, and a little son were slightly injured.

Mrs. Ensminger was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Diller, former residents of Jefferson county. She was born on the farm five miles north of Fairbury, on February 6th, 1884. Her father, Andy Diller, died about a year ago at his home in Alberta, Canada, where he moved about fourteen years ago. The body was recently removed and buried in this county.

Deceased was married to Louis Ensminger, fourteen years ago, and moved to Alberta, Canada, which was their home until last spring when they located in Colorado.

She leaves her husband and three children, one daughter, married and two sons, 9 and 7 years old. Her mother is living in Fairbury.

The body was brot to Fairbury and funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the Richland Center church, near her birthplace, northwest of Fairbury, Rev. Baker of the Fairbury M.E. church, officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center cemetery.

Those in attendance at the funeral from a distance were a daughter, Mrs. Fred Riley and husband of Holyoke, Colo.; Mrs. Laura Richardson of Bertrand, Nebr., an aunt; Tom Moore of Smithfield, Nebr., a cousin; Mrs. Pototer Scott of Hamburg, Ia., a sister of Mr. Ensminger and Mrs. Joe Ensminger of Hamburg, Ia., a sister-in-law.

Buried Near Fairbury
The body of J.D. Ensminger was buried in Richland Center cemetery Wednesday afternoon of this week. Funeral services were held at Steele's chapel, conducted by Rev. W.H. Clark.

He died Sept. 17, 1933, at Hamburg, Iowa, at the age of 41 years, 4 months and 7 days. He will be remembered here as the husband of Miss Dora Diller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Diller, former residents of the Richland Center neighborhood. She was killed in an automobile accident three years ago and was buried in the Richland Center cemetery. Two children survive, Harold and Howard, aged 9 and 11 years.
