Jennie Sims

The people in the vicinity of the U.B. Richland Center church and her many friends were shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Elmer E. Sims at her home north of Fairbury, on Monday of this week. Mrs. Sims was formerly Miss Jennie Vickers, and for several years a prominent school teacher. She was married to Mr. Sims on December 22, 1897 and leaves two children, Floy Lavelle and Carl Edwin, the latter a babe but a few days old. She also leaves four brothers and three sisters. Two of the brothers live in Fairbury.

The deceased was born September 22, 1870 at Cleveland, Ohio and was therefore 33 years, 1 month and 18 days old at the time of her death.

The funeral was held Tuesday at the Richland Center U.B. church, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Rev. J.M. Haskins preached the funeral sermon and the remains were interred in the cemetery adjoining the church.
