John Vickers

John Vickers, an old settler and resident of Richland Centre, was found dead in bed Wednesday morning by his son-in-law, Mr. Simms. The funeral was held at the Richland Centre church Thursday conducted by Rev. P. Kreuger.

John Vickers, whose death on last Wednesday, we noted last week, was born March 17, 1827, at Buckinhamshire, England. He was married in 1850 to Zelpha Palmer, from which union nine children were born, eight of whom survive him. In 1852 he came to America and lived in Ohio until 1870 where he settled until 1879 when he moved to Jefferson county, where he resided until his death.

Nita Vickers

The little daughter of Thomas Vickers and wife, aged about one year, died of congestion of the lungs, at their home near Endicott, and was buried Sunday in the Richland Center cemetery. The afflicted family have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.
