Keya Paha County is one of 93 counties in Nebraska.  It is located on the northern border of the state.

 

It was named for the Keya Paha River that runs through it, which was named from two Lakota words, Keya (turtle) and Paha (hill or butte).  

 

Its county seat is Springview.
