Thomas and Eliza returned to New York state for a time and in 1885, they accompanied a group of colonist to Nebraska where they settled in the Madison Square Community of Loup County.  Thomas Raish became a citizen of the United States at the courts in Taylor, Nebraska on September 13, 1893.   He died at his home in Sargent, January 4, 1926 at the age of 85 years.  Eliza, who became one of the pioneer religious works of the Free Methodist Church in the North Loup Valley, died July 18, 1934, at 90 years of age, at Sargent.  They were the parents of five children:  William, who married Emma Strohl; David, married Anna Sears; Grace, married James Bowley; Fred, who married Zora Carter.
